ST. LUCIE COUNTY WINNERS ANNOUNCED
CHERIBUNDI BOCA RATON BOWL ART CONTEST

BOCA RATON, FL (November 07, 2019) – The Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest winners are officially announced for St. Lucie County schools! This is the first year the bowl has expanded its contest from Palm Beach County to St. Lucie County, offering more students the opportunity to showcase their creativity and experience the only NCAA Division I College Football bowl game played in Palm Beach County. Presented by Florida Blue, the contest provides students with the opportunity to learn about football and the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.

One winner was selected from each grade division. Congratulations to this year’s First Place Winners:

  • Elementary School Division First Place Winner: Naima Guerrier – Grade 5, Palm Pointe Educational Research School, Teacher: Carolyn Schott
  • Middle School Division First Place Winner: Miyanna Morgan – Grade 8, Palm Pointe Educational Research School, Teacher: Susan Wessel
  • High School Division First Place Winner: Sandy Gamez – Lincoln Park Academy, Teacher: Sean McGraw

Winning students will receive a $500 donation, courtesy of Florida Blue, that will be given to their respective school’s art program. Winning students will also receive a $100 Walmart gift card and a four pack of tickets to the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl on Saturday, December 21. In addition, the principals and teachers of the winning students will receive two tickets each to the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl.

“We are thrilled to extend our Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Art Contest Presented by Florida Blue to St. Lucie County schools this year and get the opportunity to support more local art programs. The work submitted by these students is remarkable and we are excited to showcase their efforts,” said Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl Executive Director Doug Mosley.

About the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl: 2019 Game Moves to New Day, Time and Network

After spending five years on the Tuesday evening before Christmas and being aired on ESPN, the 2019 Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl will kick off in the Florida sunshine on Saturday afternoon, December 21 at 3:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium and will broadcast nationally on ABC as well as on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3 FM. The bowl game has conference tie-ins with teams from Conference USA, the American Athletic Conference and the Mid-American Athletic Conference.

As one of 41 postseason college bowl games in the country and one of 15 owned and operated by ESPN Events (a division of ESPN) the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl is the only one hosted in Palm Beach County. As a celebrated annual holiday tradition in Boca Raton and Palm Beach County that lives up to its other name, ‘Boca’s Biggest Annual Outdoor Party’, the event features all the pomp and circumstance of traditional bowl events. It is a high-energy, entertaining experience for both college football fans and non-fans alike and allows the national spotlight to shine on Boca Raton and Palm Beach County. Bowl week activities will begin on Tuesday, December 17 with the arrival of the participating teams; days, times and sites for the team welcome parties, beach parties, luncheon, pep rallies and other bowl week activities will be released at a later date.
