BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 1, 2022) – The public is now “recruited” to help bowl organizers choose the 2022 RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl National Anthem Performer by casting their votes online beginning today, September 1. After auditions were carefully reviewed by the Bowl’s National Anthem Contest Committee, the Top 10 will be featured for online voting on RoofClaimBocaRatonBowl.com so the public can help narrow down the competition field to five finalists.

The five auditions that receive the highest number of public votes will take the stage at the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center to compete live at the open-to-the-public Idol event presented by the City of Boca Raton on Wednesday evening, September 28 at 6 p.m. This live finale will determine who will win the opportunity to perform the National Anthem on-field during opening ceremonies held prior to the game that will be televised nationally on ESPN at 7:30 p.m. from FAU Stadium on Tuesday, December 20.

Public Voting Opens Thursday, September 1

The Top 10 auditions selected from dozens of South Florida vocalists and instrumentalists, amateurs and professionals, individuals and groups, who entered the talent competition will be featured on RoofClaimBocaRatonBowl.com  from Thursday, September 1 at Noon through Wednesday, September 14, at 11:59 p.m. The public is invited to vote for their favorite(s) once per day throughout this round of the competition. The Top Five finalists will be announced on Thursday, September 15.

Boca Raton Marriott to Host Public Finalists Night on September 28
Benefiting Spirit of Giving Network

The Idol event takes center stage at the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center on Wednesday, September 28 at 6 p.m. where the Top Five finalists will perform a “song of their choice” for a panel of judges and live audience. The audience will have the chance to cheer on and vote for their favorite contestant, and a combination of those audience votes and judges’ selections will determine the Top Three. The final three will then perform the National Anthem to determine the 2022 Idol winner.

Admission to the September 28 live finale is $25 per person and $35 per person at the door. There will be food and beverages at the event. Proceeds from the event will benefit Spirit of Giving Network’s Annual Holiday Gift Drive that brings holiday magic and cheer to more than 6,000 underprivileged children. This competition is one of several countdown events to the 2022 RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl that will kick off the Tuesday evening before Christmas on December 20 at
7:30 p.m. ET at FAU Stadium and will air live nationally on ESPN as well on ESPN Radio and locally on ESPN 106.3 FM. Conference affiliations for this year’s matchup include the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA, Mid-American Conference, Mountain West Conference, Sun Belt Conference, and selected independents.

The RoofClaim.com Boca Raton is a celebrated annual holiday tradition in Boca Raton and Palm Beach County that lives up to its other name “Boca’s Biggest Annual Outdoor Party.” It is also the only collegiate Bowl game in Palm Beach County featuring all the pomp and circumstance of a traditional bowl event.
