BOCA RATON, Fla. (September 16, 2019) – The Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl and the College Football Playoff Foundation announced that A.D. Henderson University School (ADHUS) K-5 STEAM Lab instructor Jennifer O’Sullivan has been selected as the local Extra Yard for Teachers Week honoree.
Extra Yard For Teachers Week is a nationwide celebration of teachers, led by the College Football Playoff (CFP) Foundation within the platform of college football. Created in 2015, the occasion provides an opportunity for all of college football to take part in the mission of elevating the teaching profession. The CFP Foundation works in close partnership with colleges and universities, conferences, bowls, ESPN and education supporters to honor and recognize the meaningful work of teachers for the entire week.
“We are proud to take part in this incredible commitment to teachers that is led by the College Football Playoff Foundation and thrilled to honor an outstanding teacher like Jennifer O’Sullivan,” said Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl executive director Doug Mosley.
O’Sullivan was selected as the honoree after receiving a strong and inspiring recommendation from A.D. Henderson University School principal Dr. Sherry Bees.
“Jennifer O’Sullivan serves as an exemplary educator as well as advocate for students and teachers at A.D. Henderson University School,” said Bees. “She is extremely passionate about guiding and supporting students and educators to be their best. As the K-5 STEAM Lab Instructor, she is passionate about mixing the arts with the hard sciences while developing innovative and experimental curriculum. Anytime you walk into her lab, students are creating and sharing through coding, augmented reality, engineering, building or making.”
