BOCA RATON, Fla. (December 29, 2020) – The RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl had a first-time live TV audience of over 1.5 million households, placing it as one of the most-watched pre-Christmas bowl games, according to TV ratings reports.
“We had a great matchup and the perfect evening for a football game,” said RoofClaim.com executive Director Doug Mosley. “I’m really pleased to see these very favorable reports and look forward to hearing the numbers on the total audience soon.”
The promise of an exciting, high-scoring game attracted a strong audience. BYU and UCF were two of the Top 10 scoring offenses in the nation. Additionally, there was significant anticipation about the head-to-head quarterback matchup between BYU’s Zach Wilson and UCF’s Dillion Gabriel, both of whom are expected to be selected in upcoming NFL drafts. In the end, Most Outstanding Player (Offense) honoree Wilson outdueled Gabriel to lead BYU to a 49-23 win.
The 2020 RoofClaim.com Boca Raton Bowl was aired on ESPN, where it had been carried in the bowl’s first five years and also played on a Tuesday evening.
