BOCA RATON, FL (October, 20, 2018)– Now in its fifth year, the Cheribundi Tart Cherry Boca Raton Bowl continues its partnership with the Palm Beach County School District, offering students the opportunity to showcase some of their finest artwork and experience the only NCAA Division I college football bowl game played in Palm Beach County. Sponsored by Florida Blue and the South Florida Fair, the contest provides students with the opportunity to learn about football and the importance of living an active, healthy lifestyle.
For the first time ever, the Art Design Contest was opened to high school students, with nearly 3,500 entries.
In the elementary division, first place was awarded to Jayden Vazquez of Binks Forest Elementary. Violet Eva Dewey of North Grade Elementary was awarded second place and Beacon Cove Intermediate’s Kherrington Raye Turner earned third place.
In the middle school division, first place was awarded to Christine Manvelyah of Omni Middle School. Palm Spring Middle School’s Youssaira Chakaron received second place and Tristan McGovern of Woodlands Middle School earned third place.
In the newly added high school division, Kevin Fernandez of Spanish River High School was awarded first place. Jaleesa R. from West Boca High School earned second place and Melissa A. from Spanish River High School earned third place.
Winning students will be awarded with a four pack of tickets to the Cheribundi Boca Raton Bowl on Tuesday, Dec. 18, and a complimentary ticket to the 2019 South Florida Fair. Additionally, the overall first place winner from each level will receive a Mega-Saver to the 2019 South Florida Fair and will be honored during the bowl game’s Head Coaches Press Conference and on the field on game day. First place students also garnered a $500 donation, courtesy of Florida Blue, that will be given to their respective school’s art program.
The top three winners from the high school, middle school and elementary school level will be honored during the Art Design Contest Winner Recognition Event held at the Florida Blue Boynton Beach Retail Center on Thursday, Nov. 8, from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
